We are thrilled to introduce our brand-new after-school tutoring program, designed to provide additional support and enrichment for your child's academic journey! Starting on 3/5 and running each Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, certified teachers will be available to assist students in various subjects and help them excel. Transportation to the tutoring sessions will be provided, but it requires sign-up to ensure smooth operation. We understand the importance of commitment to academic success; therefore, students who sign up for transportation are expected to stay for the entire duration of the afternoon. Please note that if a student decides to leave the tutoring session early, they will also need to leave the building promptly. This policy is in place to maintain a focused learning environment and ensure the safety and accountability of all participants. If you are interested, please complete this interest form for each student before the end of the day Friday 2/23: https://forms.gle/iE6LnkiTGaVaJLdd8

Hello from Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC) and Michigan Technological University! This summer, Michigan Tech’s Summer Youth Programs office is again partnering with HSC to offer scholarships for students from Midland, Gratiot, Bay, and Saginaw counties to attend an engineering summer camp - for free! The scholarship will cover all costs (including transportation) required to attend the Engineering Scholars Program (ESP) that will run June 23-28, 2024. Engineering Scholars is a weeklong investigation of Engineering careers featuring special topic presentations, interactive group projects, and lab tours. During the course, students get insider info from role models working in engineering fields, will be exposed to many different types of engineering, and will learn from Michigan Tech faculty, staff, and #CrazySmart graduate students! Preference will be given to current juniors, however, ALL students currently in grades 9-11 are encouraged to apply. This year, there is NO application deadline. Instead, scholarship decisions will be made monthly until all seats are filled. We encourage all applicants to submit as soon as they are able. An overview and all relevant paperwork are available under the “Engineering Scholars Program” on the website. https://www.mtu.edu/syp/discover/other-scholarships/ Hemlock Semiconductor believes that education is a great equalizer, allowing students from all backgrounds to become anything they choose to be. One of the ways they emphasize the value of education is through community partnerships to develop programs that engage students and ignite their interest in STEAM. Michigan Tech is excited to be part of this effort. Feel free to contact Michigan Tech’s Summer Youth Programs office with any questions at syp@mtu.edu - we are excited to see some of your students in the Engineering Scholars Program this summer!
